Korean Buddhist Poems is a garland of contemporary Korean Buddhist poems, covering roughly three generations from Han Yong-un (1879~1944) to Cho Choung-kwun (1949~ ). Among 112 finest Korean poems chosen from the twelve dead or living poets who were seriously involved with Buddhism as a Buddhist priest or a Buddhist practitioner, a few poems have been translated into English before. This volume of translations reflects not only deeply embedded Buddhism on the Korean peninsula but also epitomizes the typical turns of emotional, spiritual genius of the Korean people throughout the twentiethcentury.
